Farmall Tractor Parts

The Farmall tractor parts and tractors date back to the early 1920’s when the first row crop prototype was developed by a company called International Harvester.  Designed with tricycle style front wheels these new tractors were a lot more accurate and agile when cultivating a field, compared to other tractors of the day.

Although they were initially only manufactured in small numbers, the early sales were encouraging enough to persuade the company to mass produce not only the original Farmall tractor design but also a series of new designs starting with the F-series.  This meant there were now a huge number of Farmall tractor parts in circulation.

The F-series lasted until the latter years of the 1930’s, and just before the war broke out in Europe, International Harvester introduced the Letter series of tractors.  These were as follows: A, B, BN, C, H, M, and MD.  By now IH had changed the color of the Farmall tractors from their original grey to Farmall red, which is the color that most would identify with these famous tractors.  The design was also changed to cater for differing engine and equipment options depending on what the farmer’s requirements were.

In 1973 the company decided to change the name of its new tractors, which ended an era.  Farmall tractors were officially ended when the 5,000,000th tractor was produced at the Farmall factory in Illinois the following year.  They were the only company to have achieved this level of production at the time.

Parts for Farmall tractors are still very much sort after by many farmers over the world who are still using the tractors for farming.  You can find a whole host of websites offering new and rebuilt parts as well as repair kits for these old machines.  Whether you are looking for radiators, clutches, water or fuel pumps, tune up kits, hydrolic lift kits, carburettors or engine kits you can still find exactly what you are looking for.  As one of the leading tractor manufacturers, IH did continue to produce many other tractors during the years after the Farmall name had been dropped, but were eventually bought by Tenneco in 1984 and subsequently merged with the Case Corporation.
